The primary program of ICYE is the long-term exchange voluntary work of young people, primarily between the ages of 18 and 30, who seek to work as volunteers in a wide range of voluntary work to live in another country with a family, or participate in a residential project.
ICYE LONG TERM PROGRAMMES
Being an ICYE volunteer involves becoming a part of the host organization's and the larger community's life and work. Volunteers are encouraged and supported to participate in the planning and management of specific activities, to attend staff meetings, and to take on duties based on their abilities and interests, as well as the project's needs. The volunteer's active participation in the life of the community in which he or she lives and works is an important feature of the volunteer service experience.

ICYE is a global movement that promotes cross-cultural understanding, social engagement, and community development through volunteer work. ICYE programs allow individuals to participate in projects and initiatives that address various social, environmental, and economic issues in different parts of the world. These projects can range from education and healthcare to environmental conservation.

This form of voluntary service not only benefits the communities receiving assistance but also allows volunteers to develop personal growth, intercultural competence, and a broader perspective on global issues. IVS plays a significant role in promoting peace, tolerance, and cooperation on a global scale, as it brings together individuals with a shared commitment to making a difference in the world through their actions and dedication.
